The Zonta Club of Anchorage is a service organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and children through education, funds and service projects.

ZONTA CLUB OF ANCHORAGE, chartered in 1961, is a charitable organization with mission and commitment to empower women and girls through service and advocacy.  We welcome your participation and attendance at LunaFest on Saturday, December 5, 2020. Your ticket and Vimeo link provides a 24-hour film festival from the comfort of your home – 7 inspiring films produced by women filmmakers will promote gender equality and positive and sustainable societal changes for women and girls.

Zonta Club of Anchorage is one of 11,000 clubs of Zonta International founded in 1919.   We are advocating for final passage of Equal Rights Amendment, passed by U.S. House in 1972, and Ending Child Marriage. 

Since 2008, as Alaska prepared for 50th Anniversary of statehood, we have collaborated to induct 192 women who have made significant contributions to Alaska by creating the Alaska Women’s Hall of Fame.  We maintain the website 

In 2015, we assumed the responsibility to sponsor the annual Choose Respect March in downtown Anchorage.  Zonta Says NO to domestic violence and sexual assault.

Each year, funds raised are awarded to local non profits for specific needs and to expand women and girls’ access to education, health care, economic opportunities and safe living conditions.

  • Hand held radios for Fire & Police Chaplains –first responders to violent crimes
  • Ovens for Downtown Soup Kitchen to train women as bakers and food preparers
  • Bedding and clothing to help single mothers establish independent living quarters
  • Sanitary products for women in shelters
  • Personal care packets for women to be released from prison within 6 months –  Hiland Mountain Bridge to Success program

Our contribution to Zonta Foundation for Women is part of the US $5 million in program and project support for the 2020-2022 grant cycle to address the root causes of gender discrimination.  These contributions will build upon the more than US $45.9 million Zonta has already contributed to programs such as Adolescent Girls’ Health and Protection in Peru; Survivor-Centered Response to ensure that all women and girls in Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste live life free from violence; Let Us Learn Madagascar to address education inequity – targeted toward adolescent girls; and a global program to End Child Marriage.
